Our story
Passion, commitment, consistency and determination
The Montessori Academy homeschool was founded in 2016 by the “Associazione Montessori Bilingue”. Our Association was born from the concrete need of a small group of parents to create a quality school in which the use of the English language is preferred and a faithful application of the principles contained in the pedagogy founded by Dr. Maria Montessori is proposed. We have chosen the form of the association for social promotion, since none of the members has a private interest in the development of the school. There are no profits to be distributed and all the requested contributions are allocated to the School and the children to support teaching.
To use the School it is necessary to register with the Association.
Teamwork
Members who use the school are periodically asked to participate in some maintenance work on the school to help contain costs and create a better environment for the children. The school is also enriched by the voluntary contribution of friends and parents who, motivated by the limited economic resources of the school, build or set up the furnishings to create an engaging and relaxing atmosphere for the children. Many of the school's teaching materials are borrowed from the Guides, while the environment is partly custom-made thanks to the availability and skill of professional volunteers who lend themselves to design work,
carpentry, DIY, creative art, sewing, etc.
The territory
The school is located in the small town of Sotto il Monte Giovanni XXIII which, due to the morphological characteristics of the territory, lends itself very well to the education that we wish to give our children according to the thought of Maria Montessori. The school is close to the woods, the town square, the library, a minimarket, 2 stationery shops and 2 municipal recreational facilities.
